Harvest Identification Cotton (HIC)
Know exactly where your modules were harvested. Track modules easily. Improve record-keeping. |
John Deere Harvest Identification Cotton (HIC), simplifies production of round cotton modules. Using the radio frequency identification (RFID) reader on the 7760 Cotton Picker, the system reads the RFID serial numbers embedded in the module wrap and sends the information to the Application Controller 1120. The controller collects information and simultaneously displays all the critical module information such as the module count, module serial number, client, farm, field, variety, latitude, and longitude of where the module was wrapped is captured in the ModuleID.txt file. and stores information within the file server on the display. Once information is collected, it can be easily pulled off the GreenStar™ 3 2630 or 2600 Display via data card or USB drive and sent electronically to the cotton gin, then uploaded into the gin's business system.
The operator can easily track module production with two customizable and resettable counters. HIC not only documents the critical module information as the round cotton module is wrapped, it also provides two counters that increment up each time a module is wrapped. This provides the ability for producers to set each counter for specific information. For example, one counter may track module production per field while the second counter tracks total cotton module production for the harvest season. Each counter is resettable at any time to allow for maximum flexibility and customization.
As a cotton grower with a 7760 Self-Propelled Cotton Picker, manual tagging is a thing of the past. Module identification, tagging, and reconciling of modules ginned are all done through HIC. The need for additional resources to track the modules from the field to the gin yard is no longer necessary. Through the GreenStar™ 3 2630 display, operators can continue to harvest the cotton with module information continuously stored on the display. This information is then able to be sent to the gin. Less labor, less time, and MORE PRODUCTIVITY! At the gin, HIC enables modules with the use of an RFID reader, to be tracked through the entire ginning process. This is important as it helps track the module back to the field to understand lint yield. Also the ability to validate varieties of cotton planted benefits the gin that producers of specialty cotton.

Unlike other systems, which force you to stop spraying, climb out of cab, and use a hand-held device to check prevailing weather conditions, John Deere Mobile Weather lets you make in-cab product application decision based on location-specific data.
You can also input your own spraying parameters into the system, and receive notifications when the present conditions are outside these preset parameters.
