Players Handbook by Gary Gygax
Unlike the Dungeons & Dragons system, the AD&D Players Handbook provides info for characters of all levels in one manual. However, AD&D assumes that characters will rise up to a maximum level in the mid-20's; D&D includes rules for character levels up to 100 or so (and actively encourages characters to rise that high, through the Immortals-series sets).
